2 Northampton County senior centers are closing due to state funding cuts

Offering meals and activities for all ability levels, Northampton County's senior centers are remaining open in Bethlehem, Easton, Forks Township, Hellertown, Lehigh Township, Nazareth and Washington Township as state funding cuts force the closure of the Lower Nazareth Senior Center and the Northampton Senior Center on June 30, 2026.

Northampton County will close two senior centers after a state budget decision eliminated nearly $400,000 in annual revenue for aging services, according to a news release.
