Pa. woman charged with murder after leaving newborn in field: ‘She could not have her dad find out’
Worried about her dad disowning her, a 20-year-old woman gave birth last week and left the baby to die in a field outside her house, police said.
Jordyn Kauffman, of McVeytown, Mifflin County, was charged with first-degree murder on Tuesday in connection with her daughter’s death. She’s being held without bail because of the severity of the charges.
