Weather alert announced for strong thunderstorms in Northwest Pa. early Friday morning – gusts as high as 50 mph

A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 3:37 a.m. for strong thunderstorms until 4:15 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie as well as Crawford County.

Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 50 mph.
